About the role

We are seeking applications from people with an electrical service background to repair and maintain equipment in various Gaming establishments including Casinos and Licensed Betting Offices.

We are looking for highly motivated individuals with a valid UK driving licence to work as part of a team to maintain a high standard of service within a geographical patch.

This team has historically been responsible for platform software (the iKernel) running on several tens of thousands of Inspired VLT endpoints.

More recently, the team’s focus has changed to Greenfield R&D efforts to keep Inspired on the cutting edge.

Main Responsibilities:

· Work with product leads and operational staff as appropriate, to refine requirements, adapting and offering creative solutions tailored to timelines and           deployment environments.

· Work with game and other content developers to ensure we offer the most appropriate APIs, keeping in mind that published contracts can be very hard to   change.

· Take personal pride in the quality of work we produce, ensuring that internal quality improves continuously, while external quality is always high.

·  Maintain a strong questioning (but diplomatic!) attitude about the way things are and a relentless focus on improving test coverage of code bases that we    own and/ or work on.

Required Skills & Experience:

Several years of Java development experience with:

·         Strong skills in object-orientation, including extensive knowledge of design patterns, refactoring etc.

·         Experience in writing JavaScript for production applications.

·         Extensive experience of using concurrency in production applications – we expect strong Java concurrency skills.

·         Experience in using a variety of open-source tools and libraries including Maven and Junit.

·         Previous experience in agile environments with a good understanding of the ‘why’ and not just the ‘what’.
